Jayce Pugh and the Miller Rustlers would finish in second place of the Class B girls state tournament in Brookings on Tuesday with the area athletes having five members in the top ten.
Pugh would shoot a 158, finishing six shots back of Clark/Willow Lake’s Brynn Roehrich who had a tournament best 73 on Tuesday to overtake the individual title after being in third after the first day. Chester would win the team title with a 13 shot win over Miller. Kaihlyn Anderberg also placed in the top ten at tenth finishing at a 175, just two shots back of a top five finish. Sydney Asmuss would shoot a total 194 and Bailey Brueggeman would be at 211.
Both Olivia Olson of Sully Buttes and Potter County’s Olivia Mikkelsen would tie for fifth at 173 while Berkley Birney of the Chargers would also finish with a 188.
Jones County would have a top ten finisher as Jamri Kittleson would finish at 174 as the Coyotes would claim fifth place at the B Tournament. Savannah Hendricks would shoot a 187, Tayah Anderson a 201 and Emmy Newsam at 239.
Highmore-Harrold’s Kendall Cermak would finish at 218 over the two day tournament.
