The Pierre Governor softball team would finish the regular season with losses to Harrisburg 15-0 and Roosevelt 5-1 on Friday and an 8-0 shutout loss to Washington on Saturday.
Pierre would give up multiple runs in the first, third and fourth innings to the Tigers on Friday as Harrisburg ended up with a six run fourth to end the game in four innings with a 15 run rule. Pierre had just one hit as Ireland Templeton singled in the first inning. Kenzi Flottmeyer gave up six unearned runs in the four innings of work with one walk and two strikeouts in her first varsity start.
In the second game, Roosevelt would get three runs in the bottom of the first and add to it in the third to lead 5-0. Nevaeh Karber would drive in the Govs only run on an RBI fielder’s choice as Noel Kist would get a triple and Ely Broers would single for the two Govs hits. Kist allowed five runs, three earned on five hits and five strikeouts in the loss.
Washington had two three run innings in the third and fourth to win 8-0 on Saturday to close the regular season. BreAna Lowery and Broers would each double as Karber had three hits and Kist with two, but Pierre was unable to score. Kist gave up eight earned runs on 13 hits, two walks and two strikeouts to close the regular season.
Pierre will finish the regular season at 3-17 in 15th place and will face Harrisburg again in the SoDak 16 on Tuesday. First pitch from the Sanford Sports Complex is at 7:00.
