The Augustana Vikings Softball team would hold on for a 3-2 win over Rogers State in game one in the best-of-three series in the Division II Super Regional.
The Vikings would take a 2-0 lead in the top of the second with an RBI single from Nicole Bellis and sacrifice fly RBI from Stella Harber. The lead would hold until the fourth when Ashton Dorman reached on an error scoring a run still getting the RBI and holding a 3-0 lead. Rogers St. would score two runs in the bottom of the sixth to close the gap to one with McKayla Carney and Abbey Rogers driving in a run each. Grace Glanzer would close the door though in the seventh with a 1-2-3 inning and putting the Vikings just one win away from the Division II Softball World Series. Glanzer would get another complete game giving up two runs on five hits with strikeouts.
Augustana will need to win just one of two games on Wednesday to win the series. Game two is scheduled for 12:00 Central Time and game three if necessary will follow.
