DUPREE, (KCCR) — Highway work begins today on two state highways in Ziebach County. Bridge deck sealing work will begin on the Highway 65 bridge over the Moreau River and on a bridge west of Red Elm on U-S Highway 212. A polymer material and aggregate will be used in a coating over the bridge decks to prevent water and chemicals from getting inside the surface. The coating will also create a skid resistance surface to prevent crashes. Both structures will have a 12-foot width restriction during the work. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zones controlled by stop signs. Motorists can expect delays of up to five minutes in the work zones. The estimated cost of the project is 303-thousand 226-dollars. An Indiana company won the bid and expects to have the project done in June.
