The Pierre Governor tennis team is set to finish out the season starting Monday and running through Tuesday in Rapid City at the 2024 Tennis State Tournament.
The Governors will have the ability to bring back everybody except for Devin Dodson next year, but this year, it’s a chance to end the season strong and improve on the ninth place finish from last year. Pierre played in both the Gov invite and ESD tournaments over the last two weeks and Emily Manriquez, head coach of the Pierre Governors, says the first round matches are critical…

For Dodson, this will be the last time he will compete for the Governor tennis team and Manriquez says she wants to see him leave it all out there…
In singles flight two it’s Lucas Hight with Jacob Leiferman in flight three, Weston Northrup in flight four, Brady Lowery in flight five and Noah Lueking in flight six. Leiferman and Lucas Hight are in doubles flight one with Dodson and Northrup in flight two and Lueking and Marty Blanchette in flight three. Manriquez says all these flights need to come in with a winning mentality to state…
