The Stanley County Buffaloes would travel to Mobridge-Pollock on Tuesday night as the Tiger girls would beat the Lady Buffs 69-27 while the Buffalo boys would get a signature win 62-59 on a near buzzer beating three on the road.
The Tiger girls improve to 15-4 on the season and extend its win streak to five with just a showdown against the Winner Warriors on Friday to close the season. Mobridge-Pollock has wrapped up the top seed in Region 6A while the Lady Buffs fall to 2-17 and have just Little Wound left on the schedule. Mobridge-Pollock led 38-14 at the break and had the continuous clock enacted in the third quarter.
On the boys side, the Buffaloes edge out Mobridge-Pollock by three to pick up its biggest Region win of the season. Stanley County led 14-12 at the end of the first and took a 34-29 lead at the half. Stanley County then just led by two at the end of third 47-45. But Mobridge-Pollock would take the lead in the fourth quarter and the Buffs wouldn’t quit. With the game tied at 59 and 10 seconds remaining, Stanley County inbounded the ball and found Paxton Deal open for a three to hit it with 1.7 seconds remaining. The inbound pass would connect in the corner for a three from Mobridge-Pollock, but the shot was missed and the Buffaloes improve to 11-7 on the season. Mobridge-Pollock falls to 12-7 with a matchup against Winner remaining on the season.
Stanley County will travel to Little Wound on Friday for a doubleheader as the girls season will close after the game. Tip off of the girls game will begin around 6:00 Central Time and the boys game to follow.
