Governor Boys Third in Yankton, Girls First in Harrisburg

The Pierre Governor wrestling teams would both compete on Saturday in tournaments as the girls would win another tournament defeating Harrisburg while the boys would place third in Yankton.

For the girls, the team would score a 154.5, 13 points better than Harrisburg who finished in second place. Dani Ringstemeyer and Abbigail Lewis would each win their respective weight classes while Shaylee Speck, Lexie Hillmer, Ireland Templeton and Emalee Larson would all reach the championship round of the tournament. Pierre successfully won both events this weekend with the dual tournament title and the latest tournament as the season winds down to the final two weekends before the state tournament.

For the boys, the team would score a 179.5 while Stevens would take home the team win at a total of 209.5 and Tea in second at 190.5. Lucas Chamberlain and Chance Carda would each win the individual tournament while Jaxon Ducheneaux would reach title bout. Walker West, Alex Oedekoven, Trey Lewis and Elijah Boutchee would all place third.

You can see a full list of the results below. The girls team will travel back to Harrisburg on Thursday for the ESD tournament while the boys will be in the state dual tournament on Saturday in Brookings.
