The state will also work on some landscaping work relating the bridge plazas on both sides as the old bridge is removed. Plans for the current bridge’s removal are still being put together but will likely start on the Fort Pierre side and could include the lowering of bridge sections on to barges for removal. The use of explosives to remove the bridge are not believed to be under consideration.
