The Augustana Vikings will be at home this coming Saturday to open up the Division II playoffs hosting the Minnesota St-Mankato Mavericks.
The Division II selection show was held Sunday afternoon and the Vikings would be the only South Dakota team of the four to reach the D-II playoffs. The two teams played back on Saturday, October 21 with the Vikings picking up a 24-10 win over the Mavericks and at the time improved to 8-0 on the season. Augustana is at 10-1 with its only loss, a week later to Wayne State. In the game, Augie would lead 7-3 at halftime before scoring another two touchdowns to secure its win over its NSIC opponent. Casey Bauman would throw for 183 yards and two scores in the win while Minnesota State’s quarterback in Hayden Ekern would throw for 181 yards and a touchdown with an interception. The two teams know with a win they will travel to the Colorado School of Mines next week Saturday to face the Regions top seeded team in the Orediggers.
Kickoff from Kirkeby-Over Stadium is scheduled for 1:00 on Saturday, November 18.
