PIERRE. (KCCR) — More information is being learned about two men in a plane that crashed Monday afternoon north of Pierre. According to the Steamboat Pilot and Today newspaper in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, the pilot, 59 year-old Dr. Eric Meyer is an anesthesiologist and mountain climber who has reached the summit of Mount Everest on two separate occasions. The Piper Malibu Mirage Meyer was flying at the time of the crash is registered to Icarus Management L-L-C, a company listed under Meyer’s name with an address in Great Falls, Montana. The crash killed 76 year-old Hugh Alexander. Alexander according to the Pilot and Today’s report was a beloved member of the Steamboat Springs community. Alexander was an attorney in the city and a dedicated supporter to the Sk8 Church and a leader of weekly Bible Studies that are open to all members of the community, Alexander leaves behind a wife, Sue Alexander. A long-time family friend Troy Lewis is quoted as saying Hugh and Sue were huge, key people in the community who led the charge to help hurting and broken people.
