The Hitchcock Tulare Lady Patriots came storming out of the gate, and blitzed Sully Buttes 25-5 in the first set, but the Chargers got it in gear to try to make a game of it, but fell 25-5, 25-21 and 25-17 Friday night in Onida.
This was the Chargers last game of the regular season, and it was a tough row to hoe down the stretch, losing seven out of eight, and finish with a 12-17 record to close it out.
The Lady Patriots, meanwhile, improved to 21-7, and appear to be on top of their game. The only stumbling block appears to be in Region 1B, where top ranked Warner, and highly ranked Northwestern also reside. The Chargers remain in third place in Region 6B, behind Faulkton Area-at 20-8, and Herreid Selby Area at 17-6.
Leading the way for Sully Buttes was Payge Bakker, who finished with six kills, and Stevie Wittler adding four. Hitchcock Tulare was led by Katelyn Schroeder with 13 kills.
