The Sully Buttes Chargers will get an early season test as they take on the Jones County Coyotes who was a SoDak 16 qualifier in 2022 as they meet in Murdo.
Both teams are coming in having lost plenty of experience from 2022 as the Chargers would lose six seniors to graduation while the Coyotes also lost six seniors to graduation. The Coyotes went 30-2 last season dropping only one regular season game before falling to Freeman in the SoDak 16. Jones County had its setter Peyton Rankin record over 700 assists in 2022 while Mallory Vallburg had over 300 kills and a total of four players had over 100 kills each. Now, all of that fire power has graduated and the Coyotes will turn to its new set of juniors and seniors.
First serve of the varsity contest is scheduled for around 7:00 at the Harrold Thune Auditorium in Murdo.
