MIDLAND, (KCCR) — A Sisseton man has been identified by the South Dakota Highway Patrol as the man killed in a Haakon County crash last week. The Highway Patrol says 64 year-old Jerry Schaunaman was driving his 2005 Harley Davidson west on South Dakota Highway 34 on Friday August 4th when the crash happened around 12:30 in the afternoon. Schaunaman lost control of the motorcycle he was on and entered the south ditch when he became separated from the bike. Schaunaman was using a helmet at the time of the crash. He was transported to Avera St Mary’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The crash happened 23 miles north-northwest of Midland near mile marker 163. Schaunaman was alone on the motorcycle at the time of the crash.
