Day one of the AA State Golf meet is in the books as the Pierre Governors will now be looking to close out day two with a strong finish after finishing eighth on day one.
The Govs got its top performance from Madilyn Brakke as she is tied for 18th at nine over par 81. Hadley Hart would shoot a 14 over par 86 tied for 36th while Andrea Mosteller would be at 20 over par 92 and Morgan Lisburg 21 over at 93 to round out the Govs scoring. Hattie Baldwin would shoot a 101 after day one for Pierre. As a team Pierre is 64 over par at 352. Mitchell leads the field after the first day at plus 21, 309. Allison Meyerink is the clubhouse leader heading into the second and final day after she shot a two under par, 70 for the Kernels. Olivia Bruan of Aberdeen Central is second at one over par, 73 and Bryn Huber of Huron third at three over, 75.
