Tuesday, the Track and Field athletes battled the wind in Stephan as Miller and Stanley County would compete at the Big Dakota Conference Meet hosted by Crow Creek.
Stanley County
The Buffaloes would end with two wins on the day as Raegan Taylor would set a personal record in the triple jump while Kaden Montana would also win the boys triple jump. Paxton Deal would place second in the long jump while Barrett Schweitzer would place third in the 110 meter hurdles and fourth in the 300 meter hurdles. Kaysen Magee would be second in the 800 meter run while Taylor would also place fourth in the long jump.
Miller
The Miller Rustlers would take home 13 victories on the day. For the boys side, Kellan Hurd would win the 400 meter run while Alex Schumacher won the 1600 meter run and Pierce Baumberger the 3200 meter run. Isaak Hunter nearly swept the hurdle races winning the 110 meter hurdle while placing second in the 300 meter hurdles. The team of Joseph Baker, Colby Kolda, Kord VanZee and Davin Nelson would win the 4×100 relay while Baker, Kolda, Trevor Werdel and Derek Brueggeman would win the 4×200 relay race. Werdel also won the discus throw for the Rustlers. On the girls side, Tyra Gates would place first in the 100 meter hurdles while also winning the 4×100 and 4×200 relay races with Ally Mullaney, Morgan Kolda and Jaden Werdel. Gracen Werdel, Jolie Palmer, Paige Werdel and Madeline Nye would win the sprint medley relay race while Mullaney would win the high jump and Paige Werdel the long jump to round out the 13 wins.
