The Pierre Governor golf team is only 15 shots off the lead after the first day in Rapid City as two Govs are tied for fourth and another two are in the top ten.
Andrea Mosteller and Madelyn Brakke both shot 16 over par on day one which was good to tie for fourth and 10 shots off the lead playing at Meadowbrook Golf Course on Monday. Hadley Hart and Hattie Baldwin were both 19 over par, three shots back of Mosteller and Brakke and are tied for eighth place as all four scoring Govs are in the top ten after day one. Morgan Lisburg, the fifth Gov is only five shots behind them at 24 over and in 18th place. Mosteller had two birdies in round one for Pierre. Rapid City Stevens Tanna Phares shot just six over on the first day, which included two birdies to be the clubhouse leader. She was followed by teammate Lauren Knapp who was just 10 over.
Stevens would lead after the first day shooting a total 55 over par as a team while the Govs were second 15 shots back and 21 shots better than third place O’Gorman.
All five Governors will tee off at 10:00 AM Central Time for day two.
