The Oahe Capitals found themselves down three times on Friday but came back for a 4-3 win over the Sioux Falls 2 Flyers in the quarterfinals.
To open the state tournament, the Capitals, the three seed, faced the six seed Sioux Falls 2 in the opening game. Alex Chan opened up the scoring in the first period as Sioux Falls led 1-0. Barrett Schweitzer would tie the game at 1-1 early in the second period as Ashton Eining would score twice sandwiched with an Andre Carbonneau goal to give the Flyers a 3-2 lead in the third period. Ashton Griese would score on the power play to tie the game early on in the third period before Schweitzer would net the game winner with nine minutes remaining in the game. Colin Lee would make 18 saves while Trey Salonen would make 54 saves for the Flyers.
Oahe will face the Brookings Rangers in the first semifinal at 4:30 on Saturday. All 4 games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with coverage beginning at 11:15 with Sioux Falls 2 and Aberdeen.
