The Stanley County Buffaloes would go 1-2 at the Jones County Tournament over the weekend but finished with a win over the Bennett County Warriors to end its eight game losing streak 48-20.
The Buffalo defense held the Warriors to just two points in the opening quarter to lead 27-2 and the route was on. Stanley County had a 38-12 lead at the end of the first half and had to just score 10 points in the second half to cruise for the win. It’s the first win for the Buffaloes since its opening night win over the Miller Rustlers. The Buffaloes improve to 2-8 on the year while the Warriors drop to 0-6 on the season.
Stanley County will have the entire week off before traveling to Onida to face the Sully Buttes Chargers on Tuesday, Jan. 24. DT Meyer, the voice of the Sully Buttes Chargers will have the call of the game that night on Country 95.3 and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports.
