Using a balanced attack on the ground and through the air, the Lyman Raiders shut down the Sully Buttes Chargers on Parents Night in Presho by the final of 32-8.
Senior quarterback Teagen Gourneau controlled the offense, and even though Sully Buttes was close to shutting him down on numerous plays, Gourneau found the extra gear and made positive gains all night long.
The Raiders had 216 yards on the ground and 132 through the air, and opened the game with two quick scoring drives to keep the Chargers at bay.
Sully Buttes couldn’t sustain any attack offensively, thanks to a stingy defense by the Raiders. The Chargers had 137 yards on the ground, and 65 passing yards for a total of 202, to the Raiders 348.
With the victory, the Class 9A Raiders up their season mark to 6-1, while Sully Buttes slips to 5-2. The Chargers close out the regular season against another Class 9B powerhouse–the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars, while the Raiders host Lemmon/McIntosh.
