The Sully Buttes Charger volleyball team started strong, fell back, and came on in the end to take down the Potter County Battlers Tuesday night in Gettysburg, with a 25-20, 14-25, 18-25, 25-23, and 15-13 victory.
Sully Buttes had good success in their offensive game, but the Battlers proved worthy opponents, with strong defense and good net play. Both teams had tough points at the net, and kill shots by Lydia Hill for Sully Buttes and Kayden Cronin of Potter County helped their respective teams rally.
Calleigh Chicoine and Stevie Wittler were kept busy all night with setting and back row digs, while Ashlee Kaup for Potter County rarely let a ball touch the floor in the back court.
The Chargers up their record to 10-8, while Potter County slips to 8-7. Next up for Sully Buttes is a home match Thursday against the 12-6 Philip Lady Scotties. Potter County will head to Redfield for a tournament Saturday.
