The Sully Buttes Chargers golf team will send five athletes to the state tournament in Rapid City after Monday’s Region 5B golf meet at Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre.
Gavin Colson placed third for the Chargers on the day, the best finish of any Sully Buttes golfer while Wesley Wittler finished in eighth and Thomas Farries was 18th. Both Wittler and Colson are eighth graders for the Chargers. On the girls side, another eighth grader, Berkley Birney placed 10th and Olivia Olson, a freshman was third to both qualify for the state tournament.
The Class B State Tournament will be in Rapid City on June 6-7.
