Oahe’s Brylee Kafka has caught fire in the 14U Tier II Girls National Tournament as she scored another two goals Sunday morning and has four goals and six points in her last two games as Team SD won 6-3 over Tri-City Eagles of Maryland to advance to Sunday’s Semifinals.
Kafka scored the first two goals of the game early Sunday morning, the first coming not even thirty seconds into the game. Mitchell’s Brynlee Sabers also scored two goals in the win for Team SD while Brookings’ Taryn Richter had the game winning goal and Sioux Falls’ Zoe Gorra added the empty net as Team SD scored the final three goals of the game after being tied 3-3 early in the third period. The final three goals all came within the final five minutes of regulation.
Team SD will face the Canton Blades in the semifinals this afternoon at 3:15. Canton went 2-1 in pool play and won 3-2 in the quarterfinals to advance.
