The Pierre Governors have not trailed for long in any of the two games this season as they rolled the Rapid City Central Cobblers to a 61-32 win Saturday afternoon.
Lincoln Kienholz stayed off the scoring column in the first quarter but had four assists on the first four field goals of the game for Pierre. Kienholz finished with a game high 21 points while Ben Heisler reached double figures for the first time in his career with 12. Pierre led at the half 29-20 but held the Cobblers to just three points in the third quarter to control the game at 47-23.
Pierre is now 2-0, with both wins on the road defeating both Rapid City schools. Now they will take on Sturgis and Spearfish on Friday and Saturday. The Govs will begin the weekend against Sturgis at 7:00 on Friday with coverage beginning at 6:40 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
