WINNER — The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of the woman killed in a fatal accident last weekend in Tripp County. The one-vehicle crash happened Saturday, November 13th around 2:45 P-M, four miles east of Winner. Kari DeMers, a 28 year-old woman from Winner, was traveling east on U-S Highway 18 when the Ford Edge she was driving left the roadway, entered the north ditch, then hit a tree. DeMers was not wearing a seat belt and thrown from the vehicle. She died at the scene. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash.
