The Potter County Battlers had no problems with the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots on Thursday with a 48-8 win to advance to the state semifinal next Friday.
The Battlers had to come back from a halftime deficit in the first game against the Patriots, but this time Potter County left no doubt in the game rolling to a 40 point win. The Patriot offense couldn’t get the offense ignited in its season ending loss to close the year at 7-4. Potter County improves to 9-2 and will now take on another familiar foe in Faulkton Area. The Battlers lost to the Trojans in the first game of the season 36-18.
KCCR Sports will talk with Vern Smith, head coach of the Battlers again next Wednesday on Coach’s Corner, live from the Longbranch from 5:30-6:30.
