The Sully Buttes Charger volleyball team showed strong play in spurts, but not enough to string together three sets as they fell to the Ipswich Tigers 25-17, 20-25, 25-16 and 25-17 Tuesday night in Onida.
The Chargers were bitten by the service error bug, to the tune of ten service errors, and didn’t have enough communication, causing several errors to help the Tigers cause.
Lydia Hill led the way in kills for Sully Buttes with nine, while Allyson Wittler added seven. For Ipswich, junior Gracie Lange led the way with ten kills on the night.
The Chargers slip to 2-5, with a weekend tournament at Philip, while the Tigers upped their mark to 4-1, and will take on Sunshine Bible Academy Thursday in Ipswich.
