The Pierre Trappers had every answer for the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks on Wednesday at Hyde Stadium as the Trappers tied the game in the eighth and tenth inning, before walking off the game in the 12th with a 6-5 win.
The Trappers jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the ballgame including a home run from Collin Adams but the Whiskey Jacks came back to take a 3-2 lead until the eighth inning. Pierre then would answer to tie the game at 3-3 heading into extra innings. Both times the Whiskey Jacks scored in the tenth and 12th, the Trappers would have an answer. Kaiden Cardoso tied the game at 5-5 with a single in the bottom of the inning. Brock Rinehart laid down a bunt to move the runners over but the throw to first was high and Thomas Mckenna scored on the throwing error, pouring the Trappers from the dugout and into the outfield to celebrate the walk-off win.
The Trappers improve to now 3-10 in the second half of the season and will look to build off the win as they look for a two game sweep of the Whiskey Jacks on Thursday. First pitch from Hyde Stadium is at 7:05.
