Steven Moretto had four hits including a home run for Souris Valley as the Sabre Dogs rolled in the first game of the series, beating the Pierre Trappers 12-6.
Souris Valley scored three runs in the second, two in the third and another four in the fourth to build a 9-2 lead at the midway point of the game. Brendon Perez homered for the Trappers as they were outhit 16-9 in the loss. The Trappers drop to 2-9 in the second half of the season as they close in on the all-star break starting next week Monday.
The Trappers and Souris Valley Sabre Dogs will conclude its mini two games series on Tuesday with first pitch at 7:05. The Trappers will return home on Wednesday to face the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks.
