In the Pierre Jr. Shooters back yard of the Expo Center in Ft. Pierre, the team finished in second place over the weekend at the National BB Gun Invitational.
The Jr. Shooters finished behind Marshall County South Dakota for the top spot as a team on both the shooting and testing. Head Coach Sean Kruger says he was very happy with the test scores…
There were three individuals that scored a perfect test as Paige Sporrer, Mason Stoeser and Skyler Ruth all were part of 17 perfect scores.
Ruth and Jasmine Hays competed in a separate division as the group had a chance to compete one final time after Covid canceled what was going to be the last competition for them back in 2020. Ruth finished in first place in the sitting shot while second with the prone shot. Jasmine Hays won the kneeling shot as the two stood on the podium in the end going two and three overall as Ruth finished with a 478 and Hays a 475.
Ireland Templeton won the standing shot with a 98 while teammate, Stoeser was fourth with a 95. In the sitting shot, Josiah Hays was fourth while Sporrer finished in seventh place. For the kneeling shot, Samuel Sterling finished fifth for Pierre. Overall, Josiah Hays finished fifth overall individually for the Jr. Shooters as he had the best tournament for Pierre. He finished with a 480-15 while the winner, Clay Crawford, of Marshall County finished with a 488-23.
Kruger says he was happy with the results shooting wise for Pierre as well…
And while Kruger enjoyed the weekend, he’s ready for things to go back to normal…
