The Pierre Trappers are continuing to struggle as they were swept up in Minot, North Dakota over the weekend against the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs as they’ve now lost 10 in row.
Sunday evening the Trappers fell 11-9 to the Sabre Dogs as one inning got away from them giving up seven runs in the sixth in the loss. Brendan Perez homered twice and Kaiden Cardoso hit a long ball as each now have two homers on the season in the loss. Perez drove in the team high three runs in the ball game as Pierre established a 7-4 lead after five innings. But the Sabre Dogs responded with the seven spot to go up 11-7 before the Trappers cut the lead in half with a two run eighth inning but couldn’t finish the comeback.
Pierre is now at 6-15 on the season and will take a much needed off day on Monday before heading back to Sioux Falls for a quick two game road trip against the Sunfish on Tuesday and Wednesday.
