The Sully Buttes Chargers, just like a lot of track and field teams, were coming into the 2021 season with a lot of question marks. Those were quickly answered by the works of the now juniors and seniors.
The Chargers have 16 kids, 10 on the boys side and 6 on the girls side competing at the state track and field meet in Rapid City. Head Coach of the Sully Buttes Track and Field team, Jeremy Chicoine, says they are excited to compete especially after not knowing what to expect heading into the year…
Chicoine says he doesn’t want to take anything away from the girls side, but he knew going in they were going to be good and excel this year whereas the boys were nice to see…
Chicoine believes the factors which are different than years past will make things easier on the athletes…
And Chicoine says this season has been a lot of fun to see everyone again which can turn the state meet into an even more exciting event…
