The AA, A and B All-State teams are releasing on Wednesday as area teams are once again represented well.
For Class B, Sophomore Joe Saylor of White River, is on the First Team All-State as the lone sophomore. Saylor averaged 29.3 points per game for a White River squad placing fifth in the Class B state tournament. Making the third team for Class B is junior Grant Luikens of Potter County. Luikens poured in 20.1 points per game while shooting 52% from the field and over 40% from beyond the arc. Daniel Mitchell of Gregory is selected for the third team. Mitchell is the only freshman between Class B, A and AA to make an All-State team this year. He averaged a double-double scoring 26.4 points per game pulling down 11.6 rebounds per game.
In Class A, senior Brady Fritz of Winner is selected to this year’s First Team as he scored 26.4 points per game which is second highest among the three teams for Class A. Fritz was over 50% from the field in his senior campaign as the Warriors finished in eighth place at the state tournament. On the second team is Drayton Priebe, senior at Chamberlain. Priebe scored 18.1 points per game for the Cubs, leading them to into the state tournament.
Yankton’s Matthew Mors, Mitchell’s Caden Hinker and Brandon Valley’s Jackson Hilton are on the first team All-State for AA out of the ESD. Lincoln Kienholz of Pierre is joined by Mitchell’s Zane Alm and Harrisburg’s Connor Geddes on the second team for AA.
