The Pierre Governor baseball team did not get to play on Monday against the Huron Tigers, but they will still play this evening as the Govs look to regroup after being swept last Friday.
The rain on Sunday and forecast for Monday evening made things a lot less appealing to play baseball, and with Huron agreeing and saying they could play on Tuesday, the right decision was to move the game to avoid having the Tigers travel in back-to-back days. Pierre will still have six games scheduled for this week with a doubleheader on the road on Friday and then at home on Saturday. Huron is 1-7 on the season with its lone win coming against the Washington Warriors, 5-0. Huron was swept in Yankton last Thursday and against O’Gorman on Saturday. Pierre is 7-3 and have lost three of the last four scoring just one run in those three losses. Porter Hunsley had the lone RBI in the two games on Friday. Pierre’s offense will look to get back on track tonight.
Coverage begins at 4:45 with first pitch at 5:00 at Hyde Stadium on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Dylan Simmons on the call.
