VIVIAN, (KCCR) — An Interstate 90 ramp in Lyman County will close for rehabilitation work for about a month next week. Starting Tuesday, April 22nd work will begin on the east and westbound exit ramps at Exit 214 east of Vivian. Crews will also work on the crossroad leading the Highway 248 in the same area. Contractors will remove the current asphalt surface, and base under it followed by heavy roadway shaping. New base material and surfacing will be added after the grading work. The grading work will create a nearly impassable surface meaning the exit will be closed for approximately four weeks. Work will also be done on the Highway 248 crossroad near exit 208 west of Vivian. There, construction crews will remove the base material, reshape the base and lay down new asphalt concrete surfacing. Exit 208 and the Highway 248 crossroad will remain open during that phase of the project, with traffic controlled by flaggers. The two-point-seven million dollar project should be completed in June.
