The Muskegon Lumberjacks would beat the Chicago Steel in both games over the weekend but will still find themselves in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs this week.
Former Oahe Capital Carter Sanderson and his team would knock off the bottom team in the conference with two wins 2-0 and 4-2. However, Dubuque and Madison both did enough to stay ahead of Muskegon and force the Lumberjacks into the first round of the playoffs and the best of three series. The Lumberjacks will face the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in a best-of-three series which begins tonight with all three games in Muskegon. Sanderson finished with 11 points on the season with five goals and six assists.
All three games will have puck drop at 6:10 Central Time. Game one is today with game two on Tuesday and the if necessary game three on Wednesday.
