PIERRE, (KCCR) — The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources has awarded two central South Dakota cities with various funding for projects in their communities. Gettysburg was awarded a two-point-nine million dollars Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan to clean and inspect the city’s drinking water service lines. The funding will also allow Gettysburg to reshape and improvement the city’s sewage lagoon. The Gettysburg loan was awarded at three-point-seven-five percent for 30 years, Oacoma will get a Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan for one-point-six-five million dollars. Oacoma is looking to make improvements to its wastewater treatment plant and collection system. This particular funding for Oacoma is the second of five phases, which will address a downtown lift station. Oacoma’s loan is also for 30 years at just short of four-percent interest. Over 139-million dollars in loans and grants were awarded last week to 40 projects across the state.
