The Lyman Raiders couldn’t get the win on Saturday and would finish in eighth place in the Class B state tournament with a 64-46 loss to the Aberdeen Christian Knights in Aberdeen.
The Raiders were outscored in three of the four quarters as Aberdeen Christian shot nearly 60% from the field in the game and almost 40% from long range. The Knights led 33-20 at the break and Luke Kaiser had a game high 22 points going 9-13 from the floor while Jett Johnson had 14, Brooks Jett with 13 and Grady Jett with 10. The Raiders would get a team high 16 from Dawen Volmer and 12 from MJ Diehm to close out the season. Aksel Ehlers, the lone senior for the Raiders had eight as he will be the only player to graduate from this year’s squad.
Lyman finishes the season at 17-9 with a lot of upside heading into next year.
