The Stanley County Buffaloes were unable to get the win Saturday against the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers falling 66-55 at home.
The two teams played just a week prior in Fort Pierre with the Buffs coming away with a hard fought win, but it was the Tigers who would win when the season was on the line between two evenly matched teams. The game was tied after the first and at halftime before Mobridge-Pollock led by four after the third 43-39 and hit free throws down the stretch. Eddie Duffy had 20 points to lead the Buffaloes with 18 in the second half while Kaden Montana had 14 and Paxton Deal finishing with 10 as the Buffs had their three usual scorers reach double figures, but couldn’t slam the door. Stanley County finishes the season at 16-6 as Montana, Ethan Leafgreen, Blaize Frost, Austin Boxley and Noah Baldwin.
Mobridge-Pollock advances to the SoDak 16 to be the 12 seed facing the five seed Lennox in Huron at 5:30 on Tuesday.
