This afternoon, the Oahe Lady Capitals will open up the state tournament facing the Sioux Center Storm with high hopes of a deep state tournament run.
The Capitals beat Brookings twice in the final weekend of the year to move from the four seed to the three seed and facing the Storm, who they swept in three games back in December at home. Oahe finished the season at 13-8 while the Storm finished at 5-15-1, but the Storm do have a win over the two seed Brookings at the beginning of the season. Kallie Behm, one of the assistant captains for Oahe says they can’t overlook any team…
Senior and captain Brylee Kafka, who led the league in scoring with 35 goals, says they need to score first…
Behm says this team plays at its best when they play together as a group…
Head Coach Jim Wedin says they need to be the more aggressive team against Sioux Center…
Coverage will start at 12:45 with puck drop at 1:00 of the first game of the varsity state tournament. All 11 games of the weekend will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler and Jim Lloyd on the call.
