For the fourth straight year, the Pierre Governor girls wrestling team will be on top of the state as the team would outscore second place Canton by 30.5 points to win the team state title. Dani Ringstmeyer and Abbi Lewis would each win individual titles on Saturday.

Pierre Goverors

Ringstmeyer in the 126 and Lewis in the 152 each would win the title on Saturday as Lewis is now a back-to-back champion and Ringstmeyer finishes her career with the Governors as a state champion. Both Kezrey Benning and Ireland Templeton would place second overall for the Govs. Lexie Hillmer would get third place while Jayda Steinke placed seventh and Brylee Pelle placing eighth.

The Sturgis boys would win the Class A team title, but the Governors would get a second place finish from Alex Oedekoven who fell in the championship match while Elijah Boutchee placed third in his final match as a Governor. Gable Uhrig had a fifth place finish in the 106 while Porter Hunsley reached seventh and Bode Minder placing eighth as an eighth grader. Both Uhrig and Hunsley finish their freshman campaigns.

Sully Buttes

Cateri Yellow Hawk would get second place falling to the Govs Ringstmeyer in the state championship match. Sister Tahnie finished in sixth place for the Chargers as the two place again at the state tournament.

Stanley County

For the Lady Buffaloes Timber Hanson would get fifth place in the 100. After losing in the first round, Hanson battled all the way back to reach the fifth place match on Saturday. For the Buffalo boys, Hayden Roggow had the best finish with a sixth place finish while teammate Spencer Sargent would place seventh for Stanley County.
