A total of nine wrestlers punched a ticket to the semifinals on Friday between Pierre, Sully Buttes and Stanley County as Pierre has eight in the semifinals and the girls leading the team score heading into day two.
Pierre Wrestling
The Pierre Governor girls wrestling team will see a total of five wrestlers in the semifinal heading into Friday. Dani Ringstmeyer, Lexie Hillmer, Kezrey Benning, Abbi Lewis and Ireland Templeton all advanced to the semifinal with two wins on Thursday. The Govs had an 18.5 point lead over second place after the first day.
The Governor boys will get Gable Uhrig, Alex Oedekoven and Elijah Boutchee in the semifinals on Friday. The three had either falls or tech fall wins to reach the semifinals.
Sully Buttes Wrestling
Cateri Yellow Hawk made the semifinal on Thursday in the 126. Yellow Hawk had two pins for the Sully Buttes Chargers while Tahnie Yellow Hawk went 1-1 and Paige Jonas went 0-1 in her lone match on Thursday.
Stanley County Wrestling
Both Timber Hanson and Kamora Rutherford lost their first round matches but can work their way all the way to the third place match starting on Friday.
Spencer Sargent and Hayden Roggow each won their first round matchup for the boys on Thursday, but didn’t advance to the semifinals. However, they can still fight for third place in the wrestle backs.
