The Pierre Governor basketball teams will close out the regular season this weekend as both teams will face Roosevelt and Watertown splitting both being at home and on the road.
The Governor girls will travel to Sioux Falls tonight to face the Roughriders before returning home to Watertown to close out the regular season on Saturday. Both teams the Govs will face are below them in the standings as Roosevelt comes in at 7-12 and in 13th place while the Watertown Arrows are 7-12 and in 12th place. Watertown played Harrisburg on Thursday and fell to the Tigers. Pierre, at 11-7, will be at home for the SoDak 16 with two wins and the seven seed could move up potentially one more spot with some help.
The Governor boys can still climb a couple of spots with wins this weekend but will face the Roosevelt Roughriders who are 8-11 at home on Friday and then face a desperate Watertown team on the road on Saturday trying to make the playoffs. The Arrows are 5-14 after the loss to Harrisburg on Thursday. Pierre, at 6-12, is looking to try and climb the standings with two wins, but will be on the road regardless heading into the SoDak 16.
All four games will be on the air this weekend, the boys games will be on KCCR and the girls games on Capital City Rock. All four games will be on YouTube at KCCR Sports. Games will start at 7:00 on Friday and both tipping off at 2:00 on Saturday.
