The Pierre Governor wrestling team would finish the ESD season going 6-3 in duals and would place three wrestlers on the All-ESD conference squad. Senior Elijah Boutchee, junior Alex Oedekoven and freshman Gable Uhrig.
Uhrig would finish the season at 35-9 and heads into the state tournament as last year’s state runner-up in the 106. Uhrig has been dominant in the lightest weight in his second season being just a freshman. Oedekoven has been exceptionally dominant at the end of the season as he heads into the state tournament at 34-6. Oedekoven lost just one match in duals all season and didn’t lose in any tournament prior to the championship. Boutchee, one of just two seniors on the squad, finished the regular season at 39-10 and was a runner-up in the state tournament in 2024. Boutchee was a first place winner at the Lakota Nation Invite, Mid Dakota Monster, Les Tlustos and at the Region 3A tournament this season.
