The Stanley County girls and boys basketball teams would each get wins on Friday night as the girls would win 44-30 while the boys grabbed a 52-44 win on senior night.
In the girls game, Stanley County was strong both offensively and defensively to control the game and pick up the 14 point win to close the season. Stanley County had a three point lead 17-14 at the break. Journey Schnee and Addie Deal each had a team high 13 points to lead the Lady Buffaloes picking up its third win of the season. Kaysen Magee had seven and Kiera Briggs had five. Stanley County finishes the regular season at 3-17. Tacha Zephier had 18 points to lead the Lady Mustangs as they fall to 4-13 on the season.
The Buffalo boys had a 29-25 lead at the end of the first half trying to hold off the Mustangs and had to hold on for the eight point win. Stanley County had 19 from Kaden Montana to score the game high on senior night. Paxton Deal added 17 and Eddie Duffy had 12 as the trio as usual, filled in double digits on the evening. The Mustangs were led by Cashus Hunter who had 18 points including 15 points in the second half. Stanley County improves to 14-4 on the season while Little Wound is now 9-8.
Next up is the Stanley County boys facing the Lyman Raiders Monday in Presho. Tip off will be around 7:30 at the Lyman Gardens. The Lady Buffs will begin its postseason play on Tuesday on the road.
