The Oahe Lady Capitals would score the final four goals of the game on Sunday to beat Aberdeen 4-2 and win the season series 2-1 over the Cougars.
Madeline Sandvig scored with 40 seconds left in the first period and Alyssa Roehrich made it 2-0 midway through the second period, but Dakota McEntaffer scored twice about 90 seconds apart to tie the game at 2-2 heading into the third period. Brylee Kafka would net the game winning goal early in the third and after a great pass from Kallee Behm, Addison Hunsley would get two shots away and the rebound chance found the back of the net as the Caps scored the final four goals for the win. Sophia Peschong made 12 saves on 14 shots for the win.
Oahe improves to 11-6 on the season and will face Sioux Falls Friday and Saturday on the road this upcoming weekend. Friday’s game will be part of a doubleheader in which the girls will be in Sioux Falls while the boys are at home against Rushmore. Both games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Dylan Simmons on the call of the girls game and Jon Winkler on the call of the boys game.
