After a 41 point win on Friday night, the Pierre Governor girls basketball team was unable to hold off the Tea Area Titans as the Titans would beat Pierre in Tea 55-48.
Pierre held a 20-15 lead at the end of the first quarter, but were outscored 14-8 in the second and trailed 29-28 on a last second lay up by Emma Lingren. It was the last time the Govs led in the game. Pierre had 25 turnovers in the loss and shot just 34% for the game after shotting 42% in the first half. Lennix DuPris had 17 points to lead all scorers while Emery Larson added in 10 for the now 7-6 Govs. Tea improves to 6-10 and had three in double figures led by Lingren’s 13 along with Kya Haynes putting in 12 and Jaycie Babb with 10.
The Governors will travel to Huron next to face the Tigers on the road as the boys will host the Tigers at home. Coverage of the boys game will be on KCCR and the girls game on Capital City Rock with both games on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
