The Oahe Capital boys varsity team took another shot to the playoff chances on Friday with a 4-0 loss to Aberdeen at home.
The Caps and Cougars were tied 0-0 at the end of the first period and Devon Fischbach’s only goal of the second led to a 1-0 score through two periods. However, two more goals by Fischbach and Carter Vilhauer’s empty net goal, his first varsity goal, sealed the win in the final minutes as the Caps were trying anything to break through the score sheet. Jaxon Jungwirth made 26 saves on 29 shots against. It’s the fourth time this season the Caps have been shutout in a game.
Oahe will face Mitchell tonight in a massive game for playoff points. Coverage starts at 7:40 with puck drop at 8:00 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
