Larson is currently public information officer for the South Dakota State Historical Society. He serves as vice-president of the Pierre/Fort Pierre Kiwanis Club and is a club officer for the Pierre Elks Lodge. Larson as a background in radio, serving as news director for stations in Chadron, Nebraska, Pierre and Yankton before returning to Pierre with his wife Hillary.
