Both the Oahe Capitals varsity teams will be on the road on Saturday as the boys will travel to Huron and the girls up to Aberdeen in a top four matchup in the state.
The Lady Capitals had last weekend off, and will have just the lone game this weekend, but at 9-3, will face an Aberdeen Cougars squad who is trying to stop a long skid. Aberdeen has dropped five straight and will face Mitchell tonight before hosting the Caps tomorrow night. Oahe is still well within the grasp of a second place finish in the regular season, and Saturday’s game is a big one to get to make it happen. Aberdeen is 9-4-0-1.
The Capital boys team will need to make sure they get the win on Saturday. Huron is 0-11-0-1 on the season and Oahe can ill-afford to lose to the All Stars. Huron does host Sioux Center tonight before facing the 5-8 Capitals. Oahe was able to stop its five game skid on Sunday with the 9-4 win over Brandon Valley.
Both games have a puck drop at 7:00 with the girls game on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports and coverage beginning at 6:40 with Jon Winkler on the call.
