PIERRE, (KCCR) — A bill to clamp down on loopholes in campaign finances has passed the South Dakota Senate. Senate Bill 12 would limit the amount of money that can be loaned to a candidate or political committee. The bill’s prime sponsor, Senator Michael Rohl of Aberdeen says right now there are ways to exceed limits on campaign spending in South Dakota….
There was no testimony for or against Rohl’s measure, however S-B 12 passed the Senate on a 21 to 13 vote. The measure now moves to the South Dakota House.
